Ceramic Artist Benjie Heu Completes Short-Term Residency at Montana State University Billings

Heu is Professor of Ceramics at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau and holds and MFA in Ceramics from Ohio University. His work explores the nature of personal identity in twenty-first century visual culture. Resembling scarred and marred toys, Heu’s figures journey across a post-apocalyptic landscape seeking truth and enlightenment.
Heu’s residency concluded with an artist talk given by the artist and the opening reception of his exhibit “Story Time,” which is currently on display at the Northcutt Steele Gallery.
The Nothcutt Steele Gallery is located on the 1st floor of the Liberal Arts Building on the MSUB campus and is open Monday–Friday from 8am to 4pm. Benjie Heu’s “Story Time” will be on display through November 8.
