Brittani Anderson Insight into what makes Brittani Anderson an exceptional student was conveyed by faculty in the College of Business: she has shown leadership, concerns for society and dedication to hard work.

鈥淏rittani has been an amazing young lady and an excellent example of MSUB graduates,鈥 a nominator said. 鈥淪he has contributed greatly to the university and community.鈥

She is a prime example of excellence, and her tenacity is what sets her apart.

While in high school, Anderson didn鈥檛 think she would pursue higher education, until her senior year when teachers and friends really encouraged her and pointed out her strong math skills.

鈥淚鈥檝e always had an appreciation for numbers and structure. But I just never really thought about going to college,鈥 the first-generation, soon-to-be college graduate said.

Saturday, the Billings native and standout college student will cross the stage at MetraPark with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in accounting as one of two 2016 Outstanding Seniors.

During her time at MSUB, Anderson served as the Accounting Club鈥檚 president and secretary, and as a member of the Accounting Financial Women Alliance and Montana Society of CPA鈥檚. She served on student government and the Student Activities Board, and was a residence hall assistant.

In the community, she volunteered her time with VITA, a tax assistance program for low income individuals and families. She is also a member of the Accounting Financial Women Alliance, a professional affiliation with a network of successful, motivated and influential professionals who understand the unique position of being a woman in the industry and who, together, contribute to the future development of of their profession.

鈥淚 never believed I was capable of such an award,鈥 the 22-year-old said. 鈥淏ut hard work really does pay off. It鈥檚 clich茅, but true.鈥

Her internship supervisors at Wiplif Accounting and Consulting Firm appreciated her hard work so much that they鈥檝e offered her a fulltime position beginning in September.

鈥淚鈥檓 really excited for my future and appreciate all the opportunities that have been given to me,鈥 Anderson said. 鈥淚鈥檝e learned that if you just apply yourself, you can do whatever your heart desires.鈥
