Nic Reed will be graduating from the Construction and Carpentry Program at City College at 麻豆官网首页入口免费 and already has years of work experience under his belt.
He鈥檚 also just a few credits shy from earning his high school diploma. Reed, 18, is home schooled and has taken advantage of the University Connections program.
鈥淚t鈥檚 definitely nice to be completing so much education a little early,鈥 he said.

鈥淚鈥檒l probably work for a contractor for a few years but I鈥檇 like to own my business,鈥 he said.
The trade runs in the family. Reed got some experience learning from his grandfather, who was a contractor, as well as his cabinet making uncle.
鈥淚 helped my uncle in West Yellowstone over the summer. That was a lot of fun,鈥 he said.
Every year, the Construction and Carpentry Program at City College builds a modular home from the ground up.
Course work also includes learning how to manage projects and budget.
The well-rounded nature of the degree is why Reed decided to pursue it.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a really good program and I enjoyed the business side and project management aspect of it,鈥 he said.
Reed may not yet have his high school diploma but the young man is clearly going places: he said the paperwork for his business license has already been filed.
鈥淢y business is going to be named Reed Residential and Remodel,鈥 he said.
