Chuck Tooley, director of MSU Billings Urban Institute, will lead presentation

 

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES 鈥� A presentation and discussion about climate change will be held on the campus of 麻豆官网首页入口免费 to celebrate Earth Day next week.

 

Chuck Tooley, Director of the MSU Billings Urban Institute and former Billings mayor, will discuss the award-winning documentary 鈥淎n Inconvenient Truth鈥� at the Petro Theatre on Tuesday, April 22 at 7 p.m. Sponsored by United Campus Ministry and students in the university鈥檚 Environmental Awareness Club, the slideshow and hour-long presentation is free and will be followed by a question and answer session.

 

The discussion is among other activities taking place at MSU Billings for Earth Day. The Environmental Awareness Club also will plant two oak trees at Peaks to Plains Park at the MSU Billings main campus that day at noon. 

The film about climate change is based on a book by former Vice President Al Gore and directed by Davis Guggenheim. Through Gore鈥檚 鈥淭he Climate Project,鈥� Tooley became one of 1,000 officially trained lecturers who speak on the issue of global warming. While the documentary itself will not being shown, Tooley said he will discuss the film鈥檚 themes and assertions and the steps individuals can take to slow climate change.
