Artist鈥檚 reception set for March 29

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES 鈥� 麻豆官网首页入口免费 art student Lillie Grace will present her senior capstone art exhibition starting March 26, highlighting her watercolors and lithographs.

 

The MSU Billings Art Department presents Grace鈥檚 senior exhibition in the Student Gallery on the first floor of the Liberal Arts Building on the MSU Billings campus from March 26鈥揂pril 6. There will be a public reception on Thursday, March 29  from 5-7 p.m. The exhibit will be open during regular school hours.

 

The exhibition highlights a series of watercolors and lithographs questioning the construction of individual identity through choices, options and chance.  Grace said the visual illustrations express her interest in 鈥渆xploring the manner in which conscious choice and unlooked for chance directs an individual along a path that both expands and limits possibilities through the concept virtual beings.鈥� 

 

""Grace said her art explores 鈥渢he concept of the potential within personal development and the way that this potential is focused by limiting the embryonic formation of many selves, or Virtual Beings, which one could have been.鈥�

 

A student from Laurel and a lifelong resident of Montana, Grace has recently focused on Extended Studio Art and Art History at MSU Billings.  She said art鈥檚 impact depends on the basic three legs of medium, concept and viewer perception through participation and that a change or omission of one will weaken the intent of the art.
