In conjunction with the 2014 Juried Student Exhibition, MSUB Alumna and Billings artist Jane Waggoner Deschner will discuss the evolution of her work with found photographs on Thursday, April 10, at 5 p.m. in Library Room 148.

image created by Jane Waggoner Deschner - Hepburn, NeverDeschner鈥檚 artwork is currently on view in the Bent Un/Conscious: A Survey of Regional Surrealism exhibition at Yellowstone Art Museum and she has a solo exhibition opening at Catherine Louisa Gallery in downtown Billings on April 24. In addition to being an artist, Deschner works as an exhibition installer, graphic designer, photographer, instructor and picture framer.
 
Regarding her work with found photographs, Deschner remarks: 鈥淲hen I interact with a photograph, I connect us by teasing out a common humanity not confined by time, place or circumstance. I explore our shared humanity to better understand my own.鈥

The 2014 Juried Student Exhibition, comprised of nearly 40 student artworks selected by Deschner,  remains on view in the gallery through May 1.
