Racine hosts senior capstone in MSUB Department of Art

MSU BILLINGS NEWS—Student artistDacia Racine is hosting an independent Senior Capstone exhibition, Amalgamation, Nov. 8 through Nov. 16, 2018 at Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿ÚÃâ·Ñ in the outer gallery of the Liberal Arts Building. An artist reception is slated for Thursday, Nov. 8 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. that is free and open to the public. Campus parking is free after 5:00 p.m.
Amalgamation investigates the correlation between honeybee colonies and human civilization through anthropomorphic illustrations, allegorical associations, as well as abjective motifs. The artwork divulges in rectifying egalitarian principles amongst mankind as a unified ensemble, thus the metaphorical relationship between honeybees’ systematic impartiality. The artist utilizes an immersive installation of large-scale figurative drawings that comingle with different members of the honeybee hive in a manner which consolidates mankind to these insect species’ emblematic equity. Graphic content warning: may not be suitable for all ages.
Racine is a contemporary fine artist working towards completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Âé¶¹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿ÚÃâ·Ñ. She traditionally utilizes an artistic combination of explicit aesthetics with abjective subject matter that ushers forth analytical thinking within her audiences. Racine aspires to establish herself as a successful visual artist and construct a professional career creating artwork after concluding her undergraduate degree.
